Notes from the Designer:

Chauncey is inspired by the beautiful seasons throughout the year. This pattern creates a cozy and deliciously squishy triangular shawl. It is worked beginning at one side corner and then gradually increases until you have created half of your shawl, at which point you begin decreasing for the second half of the shawl. The end result is a gorgeously textured shawl using Mirage Sport yarn, which creates a shawl that is practically perfect in weight, not too light and not too heavy. This shawl is ideal for spring, fall, winter, and cool evenings all summer long.

  • The sample shown used approximately 1104 yds/1010 m total: Color A (pink/red): 228 yds/209 m, Color B (blue): 228 yds/209 m, Color C (rust): 203 yds/186 m, Color D (green): 228 yds/209 m, and Color E (Biscotti): 217 yds/199 m.
  • The shawl is worked from side to side. You will have a straight edge, and the other edge will increase or decrease as you stitch the shawl.
  • Place a stitch marker in the first and last stitch of every row to keep your stitch counts correct.
  • When working your puff stitches, do not work the ch 1 too tight, as you will work into this stitch in the following row.
  • Turning chain does not count as a stitch throughout the pattern.
