Do you have lots of leftover sock yarn? This pattern will
help you use up your sock yarn/4ply scrappy leftovers. You’ll feel awesome because you’re using up stash and getting beautiful mitts at the same time. The thrill!

Holding two strands together to produce a marled effect you can fade them or stripe them, and you can choose whether to make the mitts similar or wildly different.
If you don’t have any scrap yarns, hold two strands of fingering weight together, or substitute a worsted weight tonal or variegated yarn (held single- you need half the metreage).

Pattern is written for one size to suit adult female medium, but is easily adjustable, and tips are given for re-sizing. The instructions are written for magic loop but you can use dpns if you prefer.

Gauge: 13 stitches to 5cm (2 inches) in the round, in pattern (unblocked) using your larger needles. Difference in gauge will affect size of mitts and yarn usage.

Supplies:
Allow at least 220m (240 yds) fingering weight yarn scraps and/or partial balls.
4mm (US 6) and 4.5mm (US 7) needles (or appropriate needles to get the desired gauge).
Sewing up needle and waste yarn.
2 different stitch markers.
Scales that are accurate for small amounts (optional).
