This pattern is knit in garter stitch and uses multiple yarn overs and drop stitches to create the check pattern of open spaces.

It is knitted flat, blocked and then the cowl is stitched together.

I have used an aran weight yarn to give a large airy wrap, that will scrunch up for a cosy scarf.

the cowl uses 1 ball of wool, and the wrap uses 2 balls.
