Check Scarf
This check scarf is worked in conventional Garter stitch with
Distitch edging all the way round. The check pattern is obtained by intentional pooling, where we control the colour repeats of hand dyed yarn.
The pattern was designed to demonstrate Distitch selvedge and identical to it Distitch cast-on and bind-off. It is taken from Distitch, a book about this innovative principle of knitting. Distitch provides a very neat, clear and decorative edges, This scarf is presented in this video. More about Distitch knitting can be found on website https://assiabrill.com/
I bought just one skein of this yarn, as I was attracted to its unusual thread: it’s very springy with an almost horizontal twist. To show the shades of cherry and chocolate at their best, I used intentional
pooling to obtain colours in solid blocks; each colour stacks on top of itself. To change the colour of the blocks, short rows are used. So there is no need to cut and waste the yarn nor to hide any ends later.
