Checkerboard Cable Set
The Checkerboard Cable set is the first pattern I’ve ever written. It consists of repeated sections of purl, knit, and cable stitches. It’s not a difficult pattern. The alternating cable and purl sections create a bit of a diagonal ripple effect that is really quite pretty.
-Hat is about a 16” circumference, and depending on the yarn used as well as tension, will stretch to fit up to a 23” head. However, size is easily adjustable. Hat is worked flat. If making just the hat, you only need 190 yds of dk weight yarn.
-Scarf is 6” x 70”. If making just the scarf, you only need 430 yds.
If making both pieces, you need 620 yds total yarn; and with the Loops & Threads Heathered Tweed I used, that equals about 1.5 skeins.
