Checkered Barber Pole Socks
by Belinda Hope
These fun socks are a great beginner-lace sock project. They are not too complicated because the lace is confined to little squares, alternating with east patches of plain stocking stitch. Don’t you think the lace effect looks like a spinning barber pole? Also featured is a folded cuff – slightly tricky if you’ve never done it before, but you’ll be a pro by the second sock.
Size: Ladies
Length: knit foot as long as desired until it reaches the base of your big toe (approx 5cm shorter than your foot measurement from heel to top of big toe)
Example fits NZ size 8 and used 80g sock yarn.
From ‘Blendy Knits Again’ by Belinda Too. NZ$35 (approx US$28). Free worldwide shipping.
