I referenced Alice Starmore’s Book of Fair Isle Knitting for the traditional peerie patterns seen in the borders. The main panel motif is my own construction. The finished cowl measures 28” circumference at the bottom and 25” at the top, achieved by going down in needle size about halfway through. It is 10” tall and there are no decreases. Top and bottom have a 1” hem to keep the edges from rolling. Yarn shown is Brooklyn Tweed Peerie in Lovat and Burnished with an ivory merino from another manufacturer. Any fingering weight yarn can be substituted.

Pattern repeat is 24 stitches and you can add as many repeats as you wish for your desired circumference. I like a close-fitting cowl, especially when it’s knit in luscious merino wool.

I used less than one skein each of the two main colors plus a very small amount of the ivory. This is a great stash buster. If you add repeats, remember you will need more yarn.
