Yarn: Worsted—Lion Brand Pound of Love in 2 different colorways: “Olive” (Color A) and “Antique White” (Color B)

• 100% Acrylic
• 1020 yds (932 m) per 16 oz (454 g) skein

1 skein or 775 yds (709 m) of Color A
1 skein or 700 yds (640 m) of Color B

For Throw Size:
2 skeins or 1300 yds (1189 m) of Color A

Yarn Substitution: Substitute Lion Brand Pound of Love with any similar worsted weight (category #4) yarn that matches gauge.

PATTERN NOTES

Skill Level: Easy

Sizing: This blanket is written in in two sizes as follows: Baby Blanket (Throw). Make sure to follow the numbers for your size only. Sample shown is the Throw size.

Stitch Counts: Stitch counts are listed after each row. If no stitch count is given, there has been no change since the previous row.

Right Side/Wrong Side: The striping columns are reversible. The checker columns have a RS and a WS: the RS faces you as you crochet each odd-numbered row, the WS faces you as you crochet each even-numbered row. Your yarn should always be dropped to the WS of the work as you crochet your color changes.

Turning Chain: The turning chain (ch-3) counts as the first double crochet of each row.

Construction: This blanket is worked in 6 panels: 2 striped panels and 4 checker panels, which are sewn together using a variation of the mattress stitch. A border is worked last to complete the blanket.

Changing Colors: When changing colors, work the last stitch of the row with the old color, but do not work the final yarn-over to close the stitch. Work this yarn-over with the new color. Then drop the old color, leaving a tail long enough to weave in later, and continue crocheting with the new color.

Tip: Weaving in the ends as you go (instead of leaving them all to weave in at the end) makes this project a lot more enjoyable once your panels are completed! I wove in my ends after completing every 2 or 3 checker/stripe sections.
