Materials and Tools
Worsted weight cotton or acrylic yarn in white (I used I Love this Cotton in ‘Taupe’) You’ll need less than half a ball
Worsted weight cotton or acrylic yarn (I used I Love this Cotton in ’Royalty’) You’ll need less than half a ball
One skein each in three colors for clothing, accessories and hair in fingering weight. (I used Hobbii Cotton Kings 8/4 in white #01, blue #27, and brown #34. You will have a lot left over.
One small piece of white, black and chosen eye color embroidery thread for eye detail
2.75mm US C crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
12 mm safety eyes
2 pieces of 18 gauge wire, 19” and 8 ½” long
Pastel crayon or powder makeup for cheek blush
Small square of thin cardboard such as cereal box type for shoe inserts if desired
Embroidery needle
Abbreviations
Sc- single crochet
Inc-two sc in one stitch
Dec- one crochet over two stitches (for invisible decrease, use only front loops)
Hdc- half double crochet
Hdc dec- half double crochet decrease
Tr dec- triple decrease (dec three stitches at once, using front loops only)
Flo/ blo- front loop/ back loop only
BPsc- SC around the back post of the stitch of the previous round
FPsc- SC around the front post of the stitch of the previous round
St- stitch
Ch- chain
Sl st- slip stitch
Sk st- skip stitch
MR- magic ring
PM- place marker
RM- remove marker
MM- move marker
Notes:
This pattern is written using US crochet terms. Finished size is 10” tall. Pattern notation examples:
Sc # = Sc # of times
sc = sc # of times in the same stitch (this is an increase stitch). Likewise,
dec = dec # of times ( 2 dec = dec 2 times so, 4 stitches would be decreased 2 times to end with 2 stitches)
#b = row #, back part
#fl = row #, front left part
#fr = row #, front right part
