This is a quick and easy pattern for someone who wants to move up in their basic skills. Its easy and very effective. The yarn I choose is super smooth you can however use any aran weight yarn. There is enough room to go up and down a little in your gauge.

I used one skein of Faulkland Aran and I have to say this was the gift most people recieved from me last christmas.
oh, I used straight needles.
