Cheria Socks
Lace and wool come together to create a sock that is elegantly feminine, but still warm enough for fall and winter--especially in the South! Knit these with a tonal or softly variegated yarn and let the lace and twisted stitches shine.
One size-- pattern is a multiple of 16 sts so is not easily modified. I recommend changing needle sizes or working with a stretchy fingering weight yarn if you need to modify the size, though this may affect your total yardage. Make sure you have enough yarn to complete the project! Length is customizable to your preference. The twisted sts will slightly reduce the stretchiness of the leg and foot, so keep that in mind when choosing your yarn.
Gauge: 32 sts and 44 rows=4” in Stockinette st. Gauge swatch should be knit in the round.
Materials: needle for weaving in ends, 3 st markers (1 in a differnt color to mark beginning of round)
Sample yarn comes in skeins of 490 yds. Sample used approximately 375 yds. Any fingering weight yarn with at least 400 yds per skein should work. I recommend a solid or tonal yarn, or a softly variegated yarn like I used, so the lace has room to shine. Use any yarn you like, but please be aware that a heavily variegated yarn will make the lace and twisted sts harder to see. Most importantly: have fun with these socks!
