Construction

This pattern is worked from the center and features lace instructions written round by round. There are no charts in this pattern. The example cover is secured to the frame using jump rings (see Optional Materials list) but these are not necessary, nor are the crystal bead embellishments. You can complete the parasol without any of these materials.

Sizing

This cover will only fit a 35 inch diameter/10 rib parasol frame. For Americans, you can purchase the frame from Umbrella Joan. For Europeans, you can purchase the frame from Vena Cava. If neither of these frame options are suitable for you, you will have to shop around to find a suitable skeleton. You can supplement a frame with a smaller diameter, but only do so by a few inches otherwise your cover will fit much too loosely. You cannot supplement a frame with anything other than 10 ribs, as the cover will not symmetrically fit.

7. Two pairs of bent nose pliers
8. Index card/sturdy piece of paper 3.5 inches/8.9cm wide
9. Gorilla Glue (or any strong liquid adhesive)
