Cherry Pie Beret
This slouchy beret was dubbed Cherry Pie, due not only to the colour but to the little bobbles that cover the beanie. Whenever I bake a pie, I roll up pieces of the leftover pastry into little balls and put them on top.
These bobbles are reminiscent of that, combined with fond memories of eating delicious cherry pie with good friends.
Cherry Pie Beret also looks beautiful in other colours - light cream for a neutral look, or a deep plummy purple for something striking. What colour will yours be?
Skills Required:
This beret is designed to be a relaxing and enjoyable knit. If you’ve never made bobbles before, why not learn how while making Cherry Pie?
You’ll need to knit, purl, increase and decrease.
Cherry Pie Beret is worked in-the-round. Use whichever method you favour (I use the Magic Loop).
Yarn
I’ve used WOOLganic Merino 8ply for Cherry Pie. You can substitute any DK weight yarn that matches the tension, but if you’re looking for a soft, delicious organic wool, then you can’t go past WOOLganic!
You’ll Need: 2 x 50g balls in your chosen colour (pictured in Chilli Pepper)
Needles
1 x set 3.25mm circular needle
1 x set 4mm circular needle
Yarn used in this pattern can be purchased from Say! Little Hen
Happy knitting and bobble making! I hope you enjoy knitting Cherry Pie Beret as much as I do!
