TENSION (GAUGE)
10 stitches and 5 rows to 10 cm, 4 in, measure over pattern using a 3.5mm (UK 9 - US E/4) crochet hook. It’s important to check your tension (gauge) before starting as working to the wrong tension could result in your work being the wrong size. Before beginning, crochet a tension swatch at least 13cm, 5 in square and measure your tension. If there are more stitches and rows than stated, try again using a thicker hook. If there are less stitches and rows than stated, try again using a thinner hook.
