Chervena is a plain hooded cowl, with some subtle design flourishes. In Verb’s naturally-dyed Targee-silk, Clover, Chervena can be your luxurious winter staple: a cowl, and a hat, all in one.Throw it on by itself, or bundle it over your favorite knit hat to stay extra-toasty.

The cowl is formed by first knitting the bottom border and picking up stitches from there. The hood is shaped using short rows in garter stitch, adding a little more texture and contrast to bring out the lovely variations in the yarn. The top border is then knitted on to the body stitches, meaning this piece contains almost no casting on and no bind-offs at all, making for a soft drapey cowl with just the right amount of stretch.
