This blanket uses a combination of two stitches. Garter stitch creates the border around the perimeter of the blanket and the beautiful Chess Pie stitch pattern is created by combining groups of knit and purl stitches to form the “checkerboard” for the body of the blanket. This blanket is a truly reversible design - there really is no “wrong” side to this blanket, making it a very attractive throw. There are instructions for two different sizes of this blanket included in this pattern, but the size can easily be modified to your own liking.
