This easy but impressive-looking scarf is perfect for the Grandmaster (to be). It is made with the double knitting technique, making a completely reversible scarf. That means every chesspiece will have its contrasting counterpart on the other side.

It is available in English and Dutch.

This pattern is a guide to make this chesspiece scarf. It includes some helpful tips and the chesspiece charts to get you on your way. It won’t go too deeply into the double knitting technique, but it does include instructions on how to read the charts and work this scarf.

Gauge is not very important, as it is a scarf. The bigger the gauge, the less defined your chesspieces and the larger your scarf will be.

It is completely in stockinette, but because of the double knitting technique, it won’t curl and it will show the right side of stockinette stitch on both sides.
