This is an easy crochet pattern, suitable for advanced or adventurous beginners. Directions are given for Adult Medium in both Cowl and Headband, with instructions on customisation for any other size or yarn weight desired. Both written pattern and chart are provided, with photos of the main stitch pattern also.

Materials:
Size 5 Bulky yarn (see below for yardage)
8mm (US L) crochet hook
yarn needle
scissors

Yardage:
Adult Medium Headband (to fit 22-24” head): 75 yds
Adult Medium Cowl (28” circumference): 180 yds

Gauge:
4 sts x 5 rows = 4” (10cm) in puff stitch pattern
