Chevron is an unfussy, linear lace pattern with an interesting ‘herringbone’ patterned edge worked into a traditional triangular shawl. This gives a modern feel to the finished shawl.

It’s not a very complicated knit and the pattern is very detailed and easy to follow. The instructions are both written and charted.

Gauge is not very important apart from the need to attain sufficient drape and a pleasing look. The patten can very well be done in different yarn weights. The sample was done in standard sock yarn (420 m/100gr). The sample took 225 grams of this yarn, amounting to 950 meters.

Due to the relatively simple patterning Chevron lends itself better than most lace to relatively ‘busy’ yarn colours.
