This beginner-friendly chevron stitch blanket pattern is perfect for knitters who want to create a stylish and cozy throw. The pattern uses just 1.5 skeins of yarn and is highly adjustable in size. The chevron stitch is simplified, featuring only knit two together (kt2) decreases and knit front and back (kfb) increases, making it a relaxing and approachable project.

  • To adjust the size, cast on a multiple of 14 + 4 stitches (the additional 4 stitches create a 2-stitch border on each side). The pictured throw is a multiple of 4: (14 x 4) + 4 = 60 stitches.
  • The border is worked in a Garter stitch, which prevents curling and creates a clean edge.
  • Optional: To prevent curling lengthwise, you can add a Garter border at the top and bottom of the blanket by knitting for 4 rows (on right and wrong sides) before continuing with the pattern. Alternatively, you can block the blanket after finishing by pinning the top and bottom edges until dry.
  • For adjustments to blanket size or needle size, please make a swatch to ensure proper desired size.
