I just love the feeling of walking into a craft store such as Michaels and know exactly what I will be making when I look a certain type of yarn. That is what happened when I went to Michael’s the last time and picked up some Caron Baby Cakes.

I knew I would be going out with my husband soon on a date night and need a new clutch purse. So, I thought a chevron stitch pattern would be perfect for that and that’s how my new pattern the Chevron Clutch Purse was designed in my head.

You will need:

• Caron Baby Cake (you won’t use the entire amount, so you make at least 2 pouches with 1 cake) which you can buy at Michael’s
• 5.0mm hook
• yarn needle
• scissors
• 1 button

Gauge:

4 sc x 4 rows = 1 square inch

Final size:

11 x 6.25 inches

• Chevron stitch pattern
• sc - single crochet
• sl st - slip stitch
