A chevron hat spruced up with your child’s initial. Includes alphabet chart.

Size: This pattern comes in 4 sizes. Measure the size of the head to determine which size you want to use.
Finished sizes are as follows:
• Baby – hat size is 17” (Fits baby approximately up to a year)
• Toddler – hat size is 19” (Fits toddler)
• Child – hat size is 21” (Fits child and pre-teen)
• Teen – hat size is 22” (Fits teen and adult)
Measure the head of the person you are making the hat for.
Remember that knits stretch.

Needle Size:
• For Baby, size 3 circular needles
• For Toddler, size 5 circular needles
• For Child and Teen, size 6 circular needles
When the decreases get too close to use a circular needle, you can change to double pointed of the same size, or turn the circular needle into a magic loop

Gauge:
• For size 3 needles, 5 stiches = 1 inch, 7 rows = 1 inch
• For size 5 needles, 5 stiches = 1 inch, 13 rows = 2 inches
• For size 6 needles, 9 stitches = 2 inches, 12 rows = 2 inches
To make sure your hat is the right size, this follow the gauge above. If your knitting gauge is different, adjust the size of your needles so that you achieve this gauge.
Notions: Graph paper, pencil, measuring tape, needle to weave in ends
