A pretty ear warmer with my favorite worsted yarn:

Provisional cast on 20 sts.

The pattern:

Begin with WS (all WS rows are the same):
Row 1: K2, P1; K2, P10, K2; P1, K2

Pattern on the RS, even numbered rows:

Row 2: k3; p2, k3, right twist (RT), left twist (LT), k3, p2; K3
Row 4: k3; p2, k2, RT, k2, LT, k2, p2; k3
Row 6: k3; p2, k1, RT, k4, LT, k1, p2; k3
Row 8: k3; p2, RT, k6, LT, p2; k3

When it reaches around your head with a bit of a stretch and you have completed the pattern sequence, kitchener stitch graft the two ends.
