This chevron scarf combines a chevron stitch motif with ribbing for the best of both! The fabric is reversible but different on either side. The pattern lends itself well to scrap yarns or self-striping skeins, and would also look great in handspun yarn.
Instructions are easy and straightforward, with only two lines to memorize orrefer to in the main pattern. Cast-ons allow for a scarf width ranging from fairly moderate to pretty substantive, and just between you and me, it’s not difficult to make this scarf wider if you want to.
Materials:
- 2-3 skeins or 600-1000 yards Malabrigo Yarn Sock, Urth Uneek Sock, or similar light fingering-weight yarns or scraps
- 1 24” circular needle in US3-4/3.25-3.5mm, or size needed for your preferred gauge.
- Tapestry needle
- crochet hook in 2.25mm, or size suited to yarn
Gauge:
No official gauge! For reference, gauge in the developing sample shown is 11 sts over 2”/5cm in pattern, unblocked.
