Chevron Shopping Satchel
*** Promotion - All patterns $1 and if you buy one pattern, you get second pattern free. Discount is automatic when you add second pattern to your cart. ***
The Chevron Shopping Satchel can be custom sized to fit your needs. The instructions are for the tall bag pictured here and a “recipe” is included to make other sizes.
Knit in one piece from side to side, starting with a provisional cast on. Right and left leaning mesh alternate to create a chevron pattern. Once 8 sections are completed, the cast on and final rows are joined with a 3 needle bind off. The bottom is sewn together and I cord handles are attached to the top points.
Skills set:
Provisional or crochet chain cast on
Knit on I cord
I cord
3 needle bind off (or you can use Kitchener’s Stitch)
Simple sewing
Materials:
Cotton yarn such as Sugar ‘N Cream worsted weight, held doubled. (Models used Peaches ‘N Cream “Double” a lovely yarn, now sadly discontinued)
Size 9 knitting needles
Crochet hook, I used size E since cotton yarn has no stretch, it is easier to use a small crochet hook relative to the size of the knitting needless
