Chi Rho Labyrinth Doily
The Chi Rho labyrinth is one of the oldest known designs of meditation labyrinths. In fact, it pre-dates Christianity by at least 1000 years, but was given the name “chi rho” by early Christian scholars.
This pattern is designed with a filet crochet base (worked over 2 dc per square), with surface crochet to highlight the “walls” of the labyrinth. The pattern includes written instructions, step-by-step photos, and charts for both the filet crochet and the surface crochet.
The surface crochet allows the labyrinth to be traced with a finger, as a substitution for walking a full sized meditation labyrinth.
Yardage requirements are 100 yds for the filet crochet section, and 35 yards for the surface crochet section.
For a significantly more complex doily of the famous Chartres Labyrinth, see my pattern here: Chartres Labyrinth Doily.
