Construction Notes
“Chiaroscuro Scarf” is knitted from end to end starting with nine strip fringes.
All the strips are worked at the same time but separately in purled garter stitch, to create a stable fabric, using nine different balls of yarn.
During the knitting process, at regular intervals, the strips are twisted and joined together.

Note: One strand of yarn A and one strand of yarn B are held together throughout.
Gauge
22 sts & 46 rows = 10cm / 4” over purled garter stitch on 3.5mm needles with yarn A and B held together, unblocked.
One strip measures 2.5cm / 1” wide.

3.5mm / US 4 knitting needles
3.5mm / US E-4 crochet hook for crochet-chain cast-on and crochet cast-off
Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge, unblocked.
