This is a pattern for a cute and pretty easy pokémon-- Celebi.

He’s part of my expanding collection of chibi pokemon designs.

Using the recommended yarn and hook he will be about 3 1/2 to 4 inches tall, and consistent in size with my other pokemon amigurumi.

You’ll need a relatively small amount (not more than 30g) of a Light Green yarn as well as a Green yarn, very small amounts of White, Light Blue, and Black yarns, a 4mm crochet hook, some stuffing, and a yarn needle.

Celebi is a super cute and quirky little guy, and (so far) rather uncommon among my patterns in that he does not require any plastic parts, hot glue, or felt. If you have trouble getting the eyes to look right, I would suggest gluing on felt shapes as an alternative, though. I think finding two greens with slightly more contrast than mine would be a good idea. I’ll be looking out for a lighter Light Green for the next time I make him. He does also include some slightly more advanced techniques, like crocheting into the back loops (BLO) for the black lining around the eyes, as well as crocheting around both sides of a chain for the wings. Not too difficult, though, and useful techniques.
