Chibi Unicorn Amigurumi
UPDATE
As of April 1, 2019, this pattern has been discontinued.
Love unicorns? The world can’t seem to get enough of them right now, so why not make one for the unicorn lover in your life. :-)
This pattern works up quickly and uses a seamless crochet technique. You will be crocheting the head, body, and legs together as one piece, meaning there is minimal finishing / sewing required (just the ears, horn, and hair).
So if you hate sewing but love amigurumi (and unicorns!), this adorable pattern is perfect for you!
---- Skill Level and Stitches ----
While this pattern is not difficult to work up, the no-sew technique can feel a little awkward at first and you do have to pay attention to your stitch count. So I do not recommend it as your first crochet or amigurumi pattern. It would be suitable for experienced beginners and intermediate crocheters though.
The pattern is written in American crochet terms and features only basic stitches (sc, increases and decreases).
---- Materials and Requirements ----
You will need the following supplies to get started:
- 3.5 mm / E crochet hook
- Approximately 30 yards gray DK weight for muzzle and hooves
- Approximately 100 yards of white DK weight for body
- Less than 20 yards pink, blue, and purple (or colors of your choosing) for mane and tail
- Safety eyes or buttons for eyes
- Stuffing for body
- Darning/Yarn needle for finishing and sewing on ears
Note: you may substitute other yarn weights (use the recommended hook size for your yarn), your project will just turn out slightly different in size.
---- Pattern Contents ----
Upon purchasing this pattern, you will receive a 4 page PDF version of the pattern. It has been formatted to be printer friendly - print only pages 2-4 to save on ink.
