We love self-striping yarns. We hoard them, but sometimes we aren’t quite sure what to do with them. The same goes for mini-skein sets. They are everywhere and we can’t resist them. This pattern is the perfect solution for those self-striping yarns and mini-skein sets. There are instructions for both self-striping and mini-skein sets as well as two different patterns for the slipped stitches.

Materials
100g fingering weight yarn. Sample is knit with Strong Sock by Peach Queen Yarns in Jolly Holiday with Bert colorway. Note: this pattern works best with either self striping yarns that have clear color breaks rather than gradient color breaks -OR- using 100g mini skein sets with enough color definition between for to five colors.
1 set of size US1/2.25mm needles (either DPNs or Magic Loop)
2 stitch markers
Darning needle for weaving in ends
Waste yarn

Gauge
9 sts x 10 rows to the inch in stockinette. Note, I like a very tight knit sock. You may be more comfortable with a looser gauge. If that is the case, you may want to go up to a size US 1.5/2.5mm needle. Your gauge will be a little looser as well and you may need to compensate.

Sizes

Women’s small (7” ), medium (8”), and large/men’s small (9”). This sock is easily adjusted up or down by adding in multiples of 4 stitches. Every 8 stitches will increase the sock by approximately one inch. Sizes given are based on gauge and are relaxed. Finished sock will have about 1 inch of negative ease.
