The Children’s Classic Knit Look Beanie Crochet Pattern has been one of my most requested crochet patterns this past year! And I am happy to say that it is finally here! Shortly after releasing the crochet pattern for the Adult Classic Knit Look Beanie (which you can also find in this shop), I began receiving questions about how one might adjust the pattern for babies and children. The Children’s Classic Knit Look Beanie crochet pattern is constructed in the same easy was as the adult version - in rows, side to side, and exclusively in slip stitches. These slip stitches are what create this favourite knit look. The top is tapered so that there is no bulk. It can be worn with a pompom or without.

Skill Level: Easy

Gauge: 22 sts x 50 rows of sl st in blo = 4 inches

Finished Sizes: Premie: 4.5 x 5.5 inches laid flat, 11 inch circumference
Newborn: 4.75 x 6 inches laid flat, 12 inch circumference
0-6 months: 5 x 6.5 inches laid flat, 14 inch circumference
6-12 Months: 5.25 x 7 inches laid flat, 16 inch circumference
Toddler: 5.5 x 7.5 inches laid flat, 17 inch circumference
Child (to age 12): 5.75 x 8 inches laid flat, 19 inch circumference

Yarn: Heartland® by Lion Brand® (100% Acrylic; 5 oz, 142 g; Approx. 251 yds, 230 m). Worsted/medium Weight (4). You will need up to 175 yards of yarn to complete your child’s beanie.

Hook: Size H/8 (5.0 mm) Hook. Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
