Grace Ennis Graphic Knitting Patterns published this Children’s Size Argyle Socks pattern in 1950. The pattern is written for 2 different sizes, Sizes 4-7 and Size 6 1/2 to 8 1/2.

As with every Grace Ennis design the leg is knit flat on 2 needles and stitched up the back using hte mattress stitch. If the design carries on to the instep then this is also knit flat and stitched to the gusset using the mattress stitch. Only the ‘foot’ is knit in the round.

This is the only Children’s sock pattern I’ve ever seen by Grace but my search continues!
