This child’s trapper is made from warm chunky yarn and with the garter stitch band around the rim of the hat, the cosiness just increases.

I have chosen to contrast the yarn for the plaits, which hang from the earflaps and add buttons in matching colours. Wendy Mode comes in lots of colours which cross the chunky and DK spectrum, so they will mix and match nicely. I also bought these buttons from Wendy supplies as they fit perfectly too.
