Experiment with colour to produce this striking design which looks far more advanced than it is. By using the mosaic or slip-stitch technique you only ever need to use one colour per row but the finished item looks much more complicated.
The pattern in the book is worked in 3 shades of a lightweight chunky yarn (Lang Zoom) but you can try this design in aran or DK as long as you adjust slightly the needle size and the number of cast-on stitches.
