I actually designed this turban for a special woman in my life - my aunt.
She has been battling cancer for my entire adult life and has lost so much to an aggressive cancer - her hair (permanently), her ear and hearing, her teeth, bones and skin, her lymph nodes and muscle tiasue, her beauty, and so much more, but she remains strong and fights every day for the hope that one day she will finally be free of this terrible disease that has ravaged her body. When she is cancer-free, she will still have the scars to remind her of her strength, but she will never regain her hair, and so I have been trying to make stylish and soft, comfortable hats for her tender scalp.
She has always been petite, and worn children’s sizes so even though this is for a woman, the size is more akin to a child.
Red Heart’s Unforgettable is so soft and still has the durability of acrylic, so it is perfect for this chic turban with a twist. However, any yarn, budget or luxury will work beautifully so long as it is soft to the touch.
I have also worked up a matching lacy scarf, as the hat doesn’t require a full skein :)
