Chill Chasing Hood
The hood covers the neck area as well as the head, making it extra warm.
YARN, GAUGE, SIZE AND MACHINE
Use a light worsted weight yarn on a bulky machine at stitch size 4 to get 4.5 stitches/6 rows/inch in the main yarn. Recommended main yarns include Mary Lue’s Liberty Plus which was used on the sample and Tamm Nordic which gets the same gauge. Other similar yarns are fine, too. For the fur, use Lion Fun Fur. A 1 lb. cone of main yarn will make 4 hats. Each hat requires most of a skein of Fun Fur.
3 sizes are given. The smallest fits babies, the next one children and the largest one youths and small adults. Samples shown are the smallest and largest sizes.
Ideally, a bulky machine should be used. However, those without bulkies may succeed using every other needle on the standard gauge machine. Use weights and knit slowly. Gauge will come very close to that given for bulkies. Bond knitters, consider keyplate 4 to be your closest match where stitch size 10 is asked for and 2-3 for stitch size 4.
