This design is a straightforward and simple knitting pattern – ideal for beginners. The hat is knitted in the round, using either a circular needle or dpns (double-pointed needles).

Available in kit form that includes full knitting and making up instructions and all of the materials needed to complete your hat (see my Etsy shop - Midge Porter Design).

Perfect for making gifts, or as an accessory for your cool weather wear. Make using the included colourful variegated hand-dyed yarn, or change the colours to suit your mood, style or occasion.

• One size is offered for Adult medium – 50cm (8 inch) circumference.
• Knitted in the round using knit and purl stitches.

Materials used:

• Designer used 20g hand dyed 100% wool and 40g undyed grey 100% wool in DK (Double Knitting) weight. 60g in total.

Equipment used:

• Ribbing: Knitted on 3.5mm Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) or 3.5mm (40cm length) circular needle.
• Main body of hat: Knitted on 4.0mm Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) or 4.0mm (40cm length) circular needle.
• Decrease at top of hat: 4.0mm Double Pointed Needles (DPNs).
• Tapestry needle for sewing in ends.
• 1 Stitch marker
