This comfortable, loose fitting tunic vest is the perfect extra layer for relaxing at home or walking in the crisp outdoor air. It features a fun and easy twist stitch pattern to add texture and is a great way to showcase a variegated or tonal yarn.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Bust - 35½ (38½, 43¼, 46½)(51, 54¼, 59)“, buttoned.
Intended to be worn with 4-6” of ease. Size shown is 43¼”, worn with 5” of ease.
Length - 26 (26½, 27½, 28)(28¾, 29¼, 30½)“.

YARN: 862 (950, 1092, 1200)(1355, 1458, 1640) yds worsted weight wool or wool blend.
Recommended yarn: Hazel Knits “Cadence” (100% superwash merino; 200 yds).
5 (5, 6, 6)(7, 8, 9) skeins. Sample shown in Verdigris.

NEEDLES: U.S. size 7 (4.5mm) straight or circular needles.
Adjust needle size as needed to obtain correct gauge.

OTHER: Stitch holders, removable stitch markers, extra needle for 3-needle bind off, tapestry needle.

GAUGE: 20 sts/28 rows = 4” in stockinette, blocked.
20½ sts/28 rows = 4” in Twist Pattern, blocked.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate. Techniques include long tail cast on, knitted cast on, 3-needle bind off, I-cord bind off, picking up stitches, and short row shoulder shaping.

CONSTRUCTION: The fronts and back are knit separately from the bottom up and the shoulders are shaped with short rows and seamed with 3-needle bind off. Button bands are knit along with the fronts, and stitches are picked up for the collar, which is finished with I-cord bind off. Sides are seamed, leaving a 5” vent at the hem and openings for the arms.
