Chinese Lace Toe-Up Sock
The “Chinese Lace” pattern reminds
me of wisteria blooms. The pattern
would be beautiful in solid or tonal
yarns. I went wild with stripes. :)
Sock has a short row heel. Options
include tapered or rounded toe,
generic or calculated foot length, and
Russian or picot bind off.
SIZING: Sock will stretch about 1.5-2 inches
(3.8-5.1 cm). Measurements for circumference
have about 10% negative ease. If in doubt or for
more negative ease, size down.
Small: Total stitches 62; circumference ball of foot
unstretched ~ 6.5 inches (16.5 cm), to fit max ~8
inches (20 cm); length of foot ~8.75 inches (22.2
cm); shoe size US 6-7 (EU 36-37)
Medium: Total stitches 70; circumference ball of
foot unstretched ~ 7.5 inches (19 cm), to fit max
~9 inches (23 cm); length of foot 9.25 inches (23.5
cm), shoe size US 7.5-8.5 (EU 38-39)
Large: Total stitches 80; circumference ball of
foot unstretched ~8.5 inches (22 cm), to fit max
~10 inches (25.5 cm); length of foot 10.0 inches
(25.4 cm), shoe size US 9-10 (EU 40-41)
GAUGE: 9.5 stitches, 13.5 rows per inch; 3.7
stitches, 5.3 rows per cm in stockinette, in round,
on size US 0, 2.0 mm needles or needle and yarn
weight to obtain gauge and proper fabric density.

Yarn: 400-530 yds (366-485 m) Medium
Fingering Weight.
Sample knit with: KnitPicks, Felici, 75% SW merino, 25% nylon, 218 yds (199 m)/50 g,color Peachy.
Needles: One 24 inch circular needle size US 0,
2.0 mm
Other: Darning Needle, 3 closed stitch markers.
DIFFICULTY: Advanced Beginner to
Intermediate - Pattern assumes chart reading and sock and lace
knitting experience. Modify for your preferred knitting method.
