This scarf is part of a series of simple scarf patterns for children inspired by the Windy book series — this is inspired by Chinook’s mauve scarf from Snowy and Chinook.

The post at my blog has details about this pattern.

(The line in the post: “A simple lace scarf for beginners (PDF link).” contains the pattern.)

A simple, pretty lace scarf using the four-spot stitch from Leslie Stanfield and Melody Griffiths. This scarf is sized for children but can be sized up for older children or adults as long as stitches are in a multiple of 6 + 9 (see pattern for details).

A light dk yarn is ideal for this scarf. Wet blocking is recommended.

This is a scarf pattern for newer knitters, but not complete beginners. If you have mastered stockinette stitch (knit and purl), you will be able to do this — additional techniques are simple and we have video links in the post about this to help you (see bottom of the post). Techniques are: yo, skpo and s2kpo.
