Notes from the Designer:
Chione (Kee-oh-née) was the Greek goddess of snow. I was inspired by the beautiful colors in the Snowflake Hues yarn kit to create a shawl that felt like winter, but provided you with snuggly warmth. The crossover stitches are the blowing wind and snow clouds, the cone stitches are icicles, and the interlocking shells are snowdrifts all wrapped up in the softness of Moongleam Fingering yarn.
- Click here to watch me demonstrate how to work the special stitches in this shawl.
- The right and left sides of the shawl mirror each other. The Wind and Snowdrift stitches will be worked differently on the right and left sides.
- Stitch count is listed for each row.
- The top of the ch 3 turning chain can be difficult to find. It is recommended that you place a stitch marker in it.
- The second dc in the (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) is easy to skip. Placing a stitch marker in the stitch will make it easier to find.
- Gauge is not important, but it can affect the yardage used.
