Chivay sweater is worked top down. Firstly the neck is worked in twisted ribs, then a few short rows will shape the yoke and at the same time the raglan increases will be done. Raglan increases are then worked to final yoke depth, where sleeve stitches are placed on hold. From this point the body is worked to the bottom. Then sleeve stitches are picked up again to work the sleeves in rounds top down to the cuffs. The sequence of the strips is always 8 rounds in stockinette stitch followed by 4 rounds in alternating twisted ribs.

Il maglione Chivay è lavorato top down. Per prima cosa si lavora il collo a coste ritorte, quindi alcuni ferri accorciati sagomeranno il collo insieme agli aumenti raglan. Gli aumenti raglan si eseguiranno fino alle ascelle, dove le maniche verranno poi messe in sospeso per continuare a lavorare il corpo. Le maniche saranno poi riprese per lavorarle in circolare fino al polsino con alcune diminuzioni. La sequenza delle righe è sempre di 8 giri a maglia rasata alternati a 4 giri a coste ritorte alternate.
