  • This pattern comes in both cuff-down and toe-up versions (you get 2 separate PDFs when you purchase this pattern)

  • Also available along with 3 other gorgeous lace sock patterns in The Lace Sock Collection E-book which comes in a Toe-Up and Cuff-Down version to suit all knitters.

  • Lace pattern is charted and written out round-by-round

  • Sock Knitting Junkies will find it helpful to know this is a 64 St cast-on/BO.

  • The pattern includes a table of measurements for UK, US and EU Ladies Shoe sizes so you can make the foot of the sock fit for any shoe size. (This is particularly helpful for those who wish to make the socks as gifts when you may not know the recipient’s foot length.)

  • There is a further column in this foot-length table in the Cuff-Down Pattern which tells you, for all sizes, which row of the pattern you should finish after to begin working the heel if you would like to have the pattern end after a full pattern repeat at the toe - as in the pictured pair.

  • The instructions are for a short row heel and slipped St heel flap. Full, clear instructions are given for all stages in both versions of the pattern.

Note for toe-up knitters: The socks in the main image were knitted to the cuff-down instructions. The lace pattern is vertically symmetrical - the only difference you will notice is that the direction of the wraps on the mock cables will appear to be in the opposite direction.

  • Here is a great video tutorial for the RT-K2togtbl discovered by one of my test-knitters. It’s slightly more complicated than the method explained in the abbreviations but works just the same.
