Chocolate and Vanilla
During the heat of summer I tend to avoid knitting anything in worsted weight yarn. Then I realized I was just knitting stuff that was too big! Fingerless mitts are just right, they don’t warm up your lap and they will be standing by for those cool winter evenings.
Named chocolate and vanilla as the body of the mitt is just stockinette but with stripes to keep it interesting.
These mitts make a great stash buster if you weigh your yarn before starting. Or if you are that kind of kinitter, just change colors when you run out! The color jog is placed under the thumb which helps it blend in nicely and using an intarsia technique of wrapping the yarn gives a snug line to hide any laddering.
Details for carrrying yarn up the sides and a word of caution for keeping the stripes lined up are included.
Contrast color can be made using as little as 16 grams of worsted/aran weight yarn. If you have equal amounts of yarn, try switching MC and CC for each mitt.
