O, taste and see that the LORD is good. How blessed are those who take refuge in him!
Psalms 34:8
Don’t those strawberries look delicious? To me, they are an amazing example of how God is so good. Like the chocolate covers the strawberry, God will hover over us guiding and directing our steps when we seek Him, and, sometimes, when we do not. He loves us so much.
This shawl has been a work in progress for several years. It is a thrill to finally be able to publish it. The shape is a half-circle beginning with a tab cast on, and knitted from the top-down. A strawberry border will be created along each front edge and down the center back. There are two strawberry body sections which fit between these borders. After the body is complete, a large border, going from one side to the other, provides an opportunity to learn how to knit nupps with a contrasting color, or knit them with the main color, or both. Your shawl will finish with a beautiful lace edge that repeats the “leaf” pattern of the strawberries. There are options for knitting this edge with the main color or contrasting color yarns.
If you choose to knit your shawl in a single color, you will need to add the two yardage amounts together for approximately 1,650 yards.
Bead counts do not change, unless you want to add more.
