I love the combination of brown and orange. It looks very tasty to me. Like sweet oranges combined with dark chocolate. And the flower reminds me of Lotus. That’s why I called this pattern “Chocolate Lotus”.

This decoration for a pillow cover consists of 9 squares made in overlay crochet technique and joined with single crochet stitches. There are popcorn stitches used in the pattern. Together with a big amount of overlaid stitches they bring nice volume and structure to this design. Decoration is sewed onto a ready fabric pillow cover.

This easy to follow pattern of a square motif (10 pages) is written for one size. It contains step by step full written instructions in English using standard crochet abbreviations and US terms (stitch guide is given in the pattern). It also contains lots of pictures explaining all the tricky and difficult places and how the motifs are joined. The gauge is not very important for this project, but your square motifs should stay flat.

This square motif can also be used for blankets, bags…

Crochet level: Intermediate (front post stitches are used in this pattern), though an “adventurous” beginner can handle it!

Materials and tools: Yarn in four colors. You will use a small amount of each color. I chose dark beige, dark brown, orange and cream but you can use any colors you like!

You will also need a crochet hook 2.75 mm (C) or the size that will give an acceptable gauge, scissors and tapestry needle to weave the ends, ready fabric pillowcase.

There are two copies of the pattern offered to download: one is very detailed with many pictures, and second copy is printer friendly (with written instructions only and no pictures).
