This project makes a great stash buster. I used approximately 24m/26.5yds (7-8g/ 0.3oz) for the main body part of the cover, and approximately 12m/ 13yds (4g/ 0.14oz) for the head. The other parts all used smaller amounts of DK yarn.

Materials:
Scheepjes Colour Crafter DK weight yarn, colours used
Dark Brown (Haarlem 1054)
Light Brown (Veenendaal 1064)
Small amount of Red (Amsterdam 1010)
Small amount of Blue (Geraardsbergen 2011)
Scraps of White (Weert 1001) and Black (Ede 1002) for eyes

Shirring elastic
Polyester stuffing
Small craft bell

The cozy is crocheted in the amigurumi style ie a continuous spiral. It may help to use a stitch marker to note the start/ end of the round.

Gauge isn’t critical, its quite stretchy. However if it ends up a little snug extra rows can be added to the main body part.

These cozies make lovely little decorative additions under the tree or on the table, great stocking fillers, gifts for teacher at the end of term (if you’re being healthy they cover an apple or orange! too).
