Chocolate orange muffin cover
So the cake….
I work with a lady and it’s her birthday.
she is a fantastic baker and during COVID-19 has kept the team I work in going with her homemade scones and meringues are to die for.
So I had a little joke with Her. I’m a rubbish cook and over the COVID-19 weeks we have laughed about my cooking skills from burnt offerings, to oven burns, yep I’m rubbish.
Anyway I offered to make a cake for her birthday, the look on her face was priceless and been the person she is, she gulped some air, smiled and said ok. ( she clearly was not comfortable with this, but been polite clearly wasn’t saying no …hook, line and sinker - I had her)
So I set to work and hey presto…one chocolate orange cupcake cover made, orange inserted, but to make it look authentic wrapped in baking paper.
I walked in the room, holding this wrapped cupcake with two hands (she knows I’m a tad clumsy) and announced her cake had arrived.
Another priceless moment smile or cringe, but she carried it off with grace and gently opened the wrapping clearly dreading the contents and much to her relief….it’s a chocolate orange cupcake
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
