CHOICES is a modern lace/mesh sectional design, that lets you choose the stitches and what you make!

It uses garter stitch, stocking stitch, and a reversible mesh lace, in a sectional (modular) design, easy enough for the inexperienced knitter - knitted flat with only three basic stitches and yarn overs - yet with plenty of different stitch combinations and shapes within to interest the more expert. Because it is divided into different sections or modules, like building blocks, you can even choose what to make. Written instructions and charts are given for a scarf, plus a cushion cover, and a cowl. The sections can be knit in any combination or order, and within each section you can decide which lace stitch you want to use. Beads look great, too! Instructions and photos are given for four different net stitches. It’s up to you how complex, easy, long, or short you wish to make it.

You can use any yarn and needle to suit your project. For my scarf, I used 1 skein (about 680 yards) of TussaLin, a light fingering yarn, and 4mm needles, but you could substitute anything you like. (Do bear in mind that your yardage will change with the weight of yarn.) I suggest an aran weight if you decide to make a cushion or pillow cover, for example, and maybe a worsted or DK for a cowl.

So, pick your project, choose your yarn and….

Happy knitting!
