This skirt recipe was designed to make use of Neighborhood Fiber Company’s lovely Studio DK gradient and a coordinating color, to be a companion to the Business in the Front cardigan. The hem lace shows off your legs without giving too much away, and the skirt is completely customized to your measurements.

Finished Size:
Custom, based upon your measurements.

Yarn: Neighborhood Fiber Company Studio DK Gradient set (5 mini skeins of 100% Superwash Merino, 144 yards/60g each) and
Neighborhood Fiber Company Studio DK (100% Superwash Merino, 275 yards/100g), 2 to 5 skeins. Your yardage will vary based on your measurements!

Sample knit in Shades of Emerald gradient with Upton as the main color. Sample used approximately 25g per each gradient color and 125g of main color.

Needles: US #5/3.75mm circular needle, 32 inches or longer (larger sizes may prefer a longer needle) or size to make gauge.

Gauge: 20 stitches/24 rows per 4” in blocked stockinette stitch, worked in the round. 18 stitches/28 rows per 4” in blocked lace pattern, worked in the round. Adjustments for your preferred gauge are easily substituted.

Notions:
Stitch markers, yarn needle to weave ends, ¾” wide elastic for waistband (if desired)

Note: This is not a pattern, but is a recipe for knitting your own skirt to your own measurements. To ensure correct sizing, accurate measurements and blocking your swatches must be completed before any knitting is done.

Main Color is referred to as Color M. Gradient colorways are labelled A-E; these are referred to as A-E in the pattern. I chose to work from lightest to darkest, so E-A.

Remember, this is Choose Your Own Adventure. If you want to use leftover bits of yarn from other projects, or a different weight of yarn, you can do it with this recipe!
